Today, EMTC released Redline Version 2 of its Proposal for 21st Century Customs Framework (21CCF) and submitted it to the Customs Operation Operations Committee (COAC) for inclusion in the public record for the meeting on June 14, 2023.  COAC will makes its recommendations for 21CCF.

EMTC is a member of 21CCF Task Force and has drafted its own proposed statutory changes to Title 6 and Title 19 for customs modernization legislation.

Today, EMTC filed its written statement to the House Ways and Means Committee concerning the May 25th HWM Trade Subcommittee Hearing on Modernizing Customs Policies to Protect American Workers and Secure Supply Chains.  

Among the prominent issues discussed during the hearing and addressed in EMTC's written statement is de minimis threshold for shipments under 19 U.S.C.  section 1321.
